Kanaan Family Donation Bolsters AST IT Capabilities
Dear AST community,
I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the recent generosity of our parents here at The American School of Tangier. First, the new Parents’ Association has been working hard and have already eased some of the financial burden the school has been carrying by helping out with the Christmas program, by renovating an office and the new nurse’s facility, and by working with us to fix the roof and ceiling of the damaged stairwell. The school appreciates this work enormously!
In addition to the work of the Parents’ Association, there are parents who have made donations of equipment that have helped us to deliver higher quality instruction by increasing our technological capabilities. I would especially like to thank Camille and Vicki Kanaan, the parents of Raja, Fadi, and Dany, for their generous donation of five of the best HP computers, two Epson projectors, and two large pull-down screens for projection. Aziz Laroussi, the AST IT manager, said “These are some of the best computers available on the market today. This is a great gift to receive!” Aziz has already installed these computers as part of our three-year replacement plan, and the teachers who have received these are very happy.
As AST moves forward, the Administration will be generating a list of giving opportunities for parents, alumni, and friends of the school which we will publish here.
Beyond tuition, the American School of Tangier relies on the generous support from parents, alumni, and community members who value quality American instruction, as well as maintaining the School’s tremendous past. AST accepts one-time cash donations (tax-deductible for US tax-paying citizens) as well as in-kind donations. To make a gift, the Head of School will personally escort you through this simple process. Thank you in advance for your generous support of the American School of Tangier.
