The American School of Tangier is committed to providing opportunities for parents to become involved with the school and with their child’s school life. Each teacher’s email address is given to families so he or she is available to help parents. The School has numerous open houses and events to support the relationship between school and parent. Also, teachers are available by appointment after school to meet with parents to discuss the needs of students. Regular communication between teachers and parents is an expected component of life at AST.
There are opportunities for parents to volunteer at the American School of Tangier. Parents’ support is also encouraged through off-campus events and parent-driven activities. We welcome parents to open up the doors of their businesses for class trips and support our younger students when they are participating in off-campus activities. The Parents' Association now has its own office in the school building from which it will help coordinate its support activities.
