On Saturday, October 1, the newly-organized ASTPA held its first full meeting of the new academic year at AST. About 60 parents attended the meeting, at which plans for the 2011-12 school year were discussed. Carole Rosethorn, Troy Fillman, and Richard Lussen were there from the school administration. The meeting agenda included outlining the structure of the organization, establishing committees for parental involvement, updating the parents on the first few weeks of school, and discussing some of the issues currently facing the school, including the Beach Clean-Up Day to be held on October 8, followed by an all-school picnic. The tone of the meeting was upbeat and positive, and both the Parents' Association and the AST Administration are looking forward to working together over the course of the year. |
